CLAS can nominate two students for the Hancher Finkbine Medallion Award each year. This award honors students who demonstrate exceptional achievement in learning, leadership, and loyalty. Nominations on behalf of the college will be selected by CLAS Undergraduate Programs.  

Therefore, CLAS requests that faculty interested in nominating a student fill out this short Qualtrics form to provide:

• Basic information about the student nominee (name, major, UID).
• Briefly describe how the student nominee meets the medallion learning, leadership, and loyalty criteria.  
• Activities, awards, or honors related to the award criteria the student nominee has participated in or received while at Iowa.

Students must be nominated to CLAS by the end of the day on Monday, January 20, 2025.  CLAS will select two finalists who will then complete the final nomination process. Departments will be contacted by Friday, January 24, 2025. Departments will then complete and submit the nomination form online to the Division of Student Life by Friday, January 31, 2025.

Please note that selected students must sign a release form so that the committee overseeing this award can check their grade point average, and they MUST also provide a CV or resume and agree to be present at the award dinner on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, if selected.
