Hi everyone, please see this messaged shared by Kurt Heiar at the Iowa JPEC regarding an interesting NSF iCorps commercialization program for your research. If interested please contact Kurt directly as noted in his message.

On behalf of the UI John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center, we are reaching out to you with some important information for your Faculty and Graduate Students regarding commercialization of research work. In conjunction with the National Science Foundation (“NSF”) iCorps, we are once again offering our free introductory program, both this summer and in Fall ’25. This prerequisite, four session cohort, delivered via Zoom, opens a portfolio of resources upon completion, whether the goal is an early round of financing, to license a proprietary technology, work with our successful entrepreneurial executive mentoring team, or simply access a broader business network. The John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center is not just for students either, as we support a broad range of start-up needs for multiple constituencies.

What I am asking is for an opportunity to schedule a fifteen-minute visit with you, via in-person or Zoom, to share some informational materials we have, answer any questions, and then send you an email template that is suitable for forwarding to faculty or graduate students in your organization. We also offer departments the opportunity to have me come to a luncheon and do a Q&A about the benefits of our programs and our entrepreneurial connections. We have validated that when departments and colleges at Iowa disseminate our program material, the result is significant interest and benefit. Our programs are campus-wide, and by using lean methodology, helpful to virtually all business types, from retail to online, from technical to consumer services, and are additionally tailored to helping researchers with grant applications by being alumni of an NSF program.

Please reply directly to me at kurt-heiar@uiowa.edu and we can schedule an opportunity to share our exciting programs.

Best regards,
Kurt Heiar
