ICON Note Depot is a centralized platform designed to simplify access to two key note-taking resources for students and instructors: LectureAI and the Note Taking Exchange. Developed by AIS Enterprise Student Systems, Note Depot supports learning through two distinct class notes solutions.
 

1. LectureAI: Leverages artificial intelligence to generate notes from recorded Panopto (UICapture) lectures. This feature began pilot testing in spring 2025 and can be configured to share notes with all students or restrict access to those with a Class Notes accommodation.
    
2. Note Taking Exchange: Facilitates note sharing by allowing designated individuals to contribute notes. Notetakers must be approved and designated by the instructor before their notes can be shared through the exchange.

The College would like to remind instructors that notetaking is an important part of the learning process, and that students who are able to take their own notes benefit from doing so. Students’ memories of course material are more durable and flexible when their learning strategies are more active. Rephrasing or explaining course material in their own words is especially effective, and this strategy can begin in the classroom with notetaking.
