Due to a necessary system update, instructors using LockDown Browser in their Spring 26 course sites are required to complete a brief action in ICON. You will need to reauthorize LockDown Browser by clicking the LockDown Browser navigation link to reconnect your course.
If this step is not completed, students trying to take a LockDown Browser enabled quiz might see this message “Invalid Profile https://uiowa.instructure.com— There is a problem with the URL for this exam. See this article for more information.” and are not able to complete the quiz.
Follow the steps below to successfully reconnect LockDown Browser
- Please log in to ICON, navigate to each course with LockDown Browser enabled quizzes and click on "LockDown Browser" in the left side navigation bar in each course site.
- Upon opening, an authorization notification will show, please click "Authorize":
After authorization, you will receive a message that you have successfully updated your LockDown Browser setting.
At this point, you have successfully completed all the steps needed.
