Textbook ordering deadline
In order for the University to be in compliance with the Higher Education Opportunity Act (HEOA), all textbooks should be ordered for the fall semester before Early Registration begins on Monday, April 13, 2026.
Exceptions to the above deadline are made in the following circumstances:
- If an instructor has not yet been hired.
- If the instructor has not yet been assigned to a course.
- If the course is new and still under development.
- If the textbook is new and still under development.
If an exception has been made, a departmental administrator should add this information to MAUI so that the course is removed from the Missing Textbook Report sent by the Registrar. (To view this report, visit MAUI>Reports>Registrar>Courses Missing Textbooks.)
If the course does not require a textbook or other materials, departmental administrators should enter “No Textbook Required” in MAUI Offerings Planner for course sections not requiring textbooks. The course section(s) will be in compliance, but the information will not be reflected in Follett Discover. (Independent study courses, which do not require a syllabus or a textbook, are excluded from this request.)
