CLAS departments did exceptionally well in meeting the Fall 2026 syllabus information compliance with a 98% compliance rate and climbing. Now we want to remind you that even though information has been submitted, updates and corrections can still be made this fall. 

We encourage departments to review the information currently displayed in MyUI and make any needed revisions to ensure course information is accurate and complete. Information that is now visible in MyUI is intended to reflect current course content and expectations and can be updated as courses evolve.

How do departments make changes?

Faculty should review their courses and send edits to the appropriate designated staff member in their department. This staff member may also send a spreadsheet or list to faculty asking for any missing information.

For staff making changes in MAUI:

Use Offerings Planner for section-specific information:

• Course Topics
• Assessment Types (Exam, paper, etc)
• Required Textbooks, Readings, and Course Materials (when maintained at the section level)

Use the Revise Course Form for course-level information (in fall 2026, you may also still email reg-maui-support@uiowa.edu or reg-course-approval@uiowa.edu for changes):

• Learning Objectives
• Course Title
• Course Description

Learning objectives are maintained in the Course Library and apply across sections of a course. Note: all General Education courses have consistent Learning Objectives, so do not need to be edited.

How to review your courses

Departments can use the following MAUI tools:

• Syllabi Compliance Dashboard to identify courses with missing required components.
• Syllabus Content Review Dashboard to review the topics, assessments, learning objectives, and other syllabus information currently associated with courses. 

We encourage you to review your department's Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 offerings and make any needed updates. In the future, information will replicate from one semester to another, so the need for editing will be reduced.
