We are pleased to announce the continuation of the Industry Professionals in the Arts and Humanities program, which connects University of Iowa students with professionals working across the arts, humanities, publishing, media, film, and other creative industries. The program provides funding awards of up to $10,000 to support visits that enrich student learning through workshops, masterclasses, mentoring, and career-focused engagement.
Recent projects have brought literary agents, filmmakers, publishers, writers, and artists into classrooms across the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, helping students connect academic study with professional practice and better understand careers in evolving creative fields.
- Eligibility: Open to CLAS tenure-track and instructional-track faculty
- Application Periods:
- Sept. 23 – Oct. 23, 2026: Application period for industry professional visitors to Spring 2027 courses
- Jan. 20 – Feb. 19, 2027: Application period for industry professional visitors to Fall 2027 courses
- Application Process: Submit completed application to the CLAS Dean's Office
- Post-Award Reporting: Award recipients will be asked to submit a brief report describing project activities, student engagement, and learning outcomes
