Molly Rechkemmer
Molly Rechkemmer serves as the Associate Director of Student Services in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at the University of Iowa, where she supports collegiate advising operations, student retention initiatives, and the implementation of academic policies for the university’s largest college. With more than 20 years of experience in higher education, she is known for her student‑centered approach, deep expertise in academic advising, and ability to translate complex policies into clear, actionable guidance. Molly holds a Master of Science from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville’s practitioner-oriented Student Affairs and Higher Education program, and a Bachelor of Science from Iowa State University, with a major in Psychology.
Prior to her current role, Molly was a Senior Academic Advisor for Art and Art History, Cinema and Screenwriting, Dance, Music, and Theatre. Additionally, she served as the Coordinator for the Arts Entrepreneurship Certificate.
In addition to her administrative leadership in CLAS, she has taught a career development course in the College of Education for two decades, guiding students through major and career exploration and job and internship search strategies. She is committed to fostering supportive advising practices and strengthening systems that help students navigate challenges, persist toward graduation, and find meaningful employment post-graduation.
Outside of work, Molly enjoys spending time with her family, singing, participating in her church, being outdoors, reading, and traveling.
