Emily Hurst
In her role as CLAS Student Care Manager, Emily helps students navigate resources on and off campus that can help them reach their academic goals. Emily also provides training for staff and faculty supporting students with behavioral health needs.
Emily received her BA in English and Master’s in Social Work from the University of Iowa. Prior to coming to CLAS, Emily served as the Clinical Case Manager for the University Counseling Service. It was there that she deepened her passion for working with students in higher education. Emily worked for the award-winning Johnson County Jail Alternatives program for over a decade and has extensive experience working with individuals in the criminal justice system, as well as those who are experiencing chronic homelessness.
