Join us for the third annual CLAS Teaching Excellence Showcase on Friday, October 23 from 10:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. in the new CLAS meeting space, 255 Macbride Hall.
The Showcase is an opportunity to celebrate teaching excellence in the college and to learn more about various initiatives faculty members are taking to promote student learning in and beyond CLAS.
At the CLAS Teaching Excellence Showcase you can:
- Learn about teaching innovation across the college.
- Celebrate faculty members in CLAS who have been recognized for teaching excellence during 2025-26.
- Learn about the college’s Herman J. and Eileen S. Schmidt Endowed Chair for Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching and hear from the most recent recipient of this prestigious award, Renee Cole (DEO and Professor of Chemistry).
- Hear from faculty who have had transformative moments redesigning an aspect of their course related to the use (or misuse) of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools and how these experiences have impacted their teaching practices and attitudes.
- Learn about the university’s new resources related to AI and Teaching for instructors.
- Find out about upcoming events and opportunities offered by the Office of Teaching and Learning Technology, Center for Teaching, and the Council on Teaching to assist you in your teaching and learning activities.
The event is co-sponsored by the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, the Center for Teaching, and the Office of Teaching, Learning, and Technology. We hope to see you there!
