RE: From syllabus to assessment: Navigating AI in your CLAS courses (Fall 2024)
The world of education is constantly evolving, and artificial intelligence (AI) is poised to play a significant role in that evolution, whether we are ready or not. This session is designed to equip you, as a CLAS instructor, to think about AI usage in the classroom and beyond.
All CLAS instructors, including graduate TAs, are welcome to register! In addition to providing some background on AI tools and methods, we will explore a range of topics that are relevant to instruction and student learning:
- Creative integration: Discover effective use of AI in course planning, course activities and course assessments that encourage authentic learning.
- Open communication: Learn how to effectively discuss your AI policies in the course syllabus and with your students, setting clear expectations and fostering a responsible learning environment.
- Future-ready skills: Equip your students to be prepared to navigate the increasingly AI-driven world.
- Time for your Q&A: We will have time at the end for questions and discussion with presenters and colleagues.
This workshop will also address concerns surrounding AI and academic integrity, including how to navigate the misuse of AI in your classes.
Join us for one of the online sessions to discuss AI and your classroom experience! This is not a series, and you only need to register for one session.
