The Office of the Vice President for Research has established a webpage with best practices and FAQ to avoid authorship disputes when working together on a paper or other multi-author publication. Please view this tool on the website.

The Research Integrity Office is sometimes asked to adjudicate an authorship dispute. They have indicated that they expect researchers to use their Authorship Agreement Tool, and that any subsequent disputes will be much easier to resolve if they do.
