Dear Deans and Associate Deans for Faculty,
The Office of the Executive Vice President and Provost announces the call for requests related to strategic priorities. Eligible UI faculty may apply for up to $5,000 in one-time funding to support project completion, partial summer salary, bridge funding, or similar needs. This funding is intended to help faculty bring research/scholarly projects to closure within the award period.
Eligibility
All UI tenure, clinical, research, and instructional track faculty with 50% or greater appointment are eligible. Faculty may receive only one award every other year.
Submission Process
Requests must be submitted via a designated workflow form and will be routed to the DEO and associate dean for faculty (ADF) for approval. ADF approvals are due by 11:59 p.m. on Nov. 19, 2025. Funding is limited and will be awarded based on merit and submission order.
Award Period
Funds will be available beginning spring 2026 and must be fully expended between Jan. 1, 2026 – Dec. 31, 2026.
Important Funding Parameters
- No Extensions or repurposing of funds will be allowed once awarded.
- Funding cannot be used for office or lab renovations, or for purchasing office/research/lab supplies, such as laptops, printers, peripherals, or office equipment.
- Budget revisions to accommodate these types of purchases will not be approved.
- Please share this announcement with your DEOs and faculty as appropriate.
