The CLAS Executive Committee meets weekly during the academic year (Tuesdays, 8:45-10:15 a.m.) and is chaired by Dean Sara Sanders. Committee membership, responsibilities, and operating procedures are outlined in Article VI of the CLAS Manual of Procedure. Associate Deans serve as ex officio members of the committee, and elected faculty members serve three-year terms. 

The Executive Committee serves as the principal faculty advisory committee to the Dean and plays a central role in shared governance within the College. The committee consults with the Dean on matters affecting the College, reviews issues of collegiate policy and administration, helps communicate faculty concerns and priorities, and may make recommendations on matters related to the academic mission and operation of the College. The committee also serves as a forum for discussion of issues that may be brought forward to other faculty governance bodies as appropriate. 

After the minutes of the Executive Committee are approved, they are distributed by email through the College's faculty governance email list.
