The U.S. Department of Justice requires all University of Iowa digital content to meet accessibility standards under Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) by April 2026. This requirement applies to public websites, intranets, and all digital applications. If you're ready to start ensuring your content is compliant and accessible, the Accessibility@Iowa team is kicking off the spring semester's 100 Days of Accessibility event.

100 Days sessions focus on practical approaches to digital accessibility. Pick your track or mix and match sessions on accessible documents, assessment tools, purchasing and procurement strategies, campus accessibility resources, legal/policy obligations, and more.

If you'd rather follow a written recommendation for how to get started, the University of Iowa Office of Strategic Communications compiled a step-by-step process for you to follow.

The CLAS Marketing and Communications Web Team will continue to provide updates on the campus-wide initiative to improve web accessibility. If you have questions, don't hesitate to reach out to us via clas-marcom@uiowa.edu!
