The University of Iowa Information Security and Policy Office has identified cybersecurity threats targeting payroll and direct deposit information.
- If you receive a Duo Push, SMS/text message, or phone call you did not initiate, do not approve the request. Approving an unexpected request could allow unauthorized access to your payroll and direct deposit information. To keep your account secure:
- If you receive an unexpected Duo authentication request, deny it and report it to the ITS Help Desk at 319-384-4357 or the Healthcare Help Desk at 319-356-0001.
- If you think your credentials might be compromised, reset your password as soon as possible.
- Work with your local IT support staff to stay up to date on cybersecurity best practices.
- We have identified a number of malicious websites that may return as top search results when a user performs a Google search for "uiowa self service." These websites will look like an official Employee Self-Service login in order to steal your login information. Please access Employee Self-Service by either directly going to https://hris.uiowa.edu or going to https://uiowa.edu and clicking the "Employee Self-Service" link at the bottom of the page.
If you have questions about your payroll information, contact Payroll Services.
By staying aware and using security tools like Duo, you help keep your information and our university secure. Thank you for your diligence.
