If you manage digital signs in your unit or area via signage.uiowa.edu, it’s time to start your transition to the new signage website. This is because the existing platform will no longer be available after Oct. 31, 2025.
Important things to know about the new signage system
- Digital signage will have a new web address: https://signage.sites.uiowa.edu/. Be sure to update any links or bookmarks you may have.
- Moving signs into the new system is a manual process that people who manage signs will need to do. This will be the responsibility of sign owners in individual CLAS departments, programs, and units.
- There will not be an archive of the files on signage.uiowa.edu, so it will be the responsibility of each unit to download any files they may need for future use before the Oct. 31 deadline.
- Some features from the current signage site will not be available on the new platform. Other features are still in development and might not be immediately available. If you have questions about features or the system generally, reach out to CLAS marketing and communication and we can provide support or connect you with the right people.
Get started in the new signage system
To begin transitioning to a new website, a primary contact from your existing signage group(s) should contact CLAS marketing and communications with:
- Your hawkID
- Group name(s) you want created on https://signage.sites.uiowa.edu/
- Once access is granted, you’ll be able to add additional group members and create slide and sign content.
- When ready to switch a sign over, send us:
- The current sign URL (e.g. https://signage.uiowa.edu/...)
- The signage device ID (e.g. DDS-XXX-XXX)
- The new sign URL (e.g. https://signage.sites.uiowa.edu/...)
Sign migration deadline
On Oct. 31, 2025, https://signage.uiowa.edu will be shut down. Any display device still pointing to the old URL will no longer display signage content. This is why we recommend migrating your content as soon as you are able.
