Anna Newnum, a dedicated student advocate and longtime advising professional, has taken on a new role as Director for Advising and Recruitment in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (CLAS). In this leadership position, Newnum builds on more than a decade of experience helping students navigate their academic pathways.

For years, Scott Daly, associate professor in the Department of Chemistry, has been working with his student research team to understand an area of chemistry so few chemists have dared to touch. Now, Daly and his group have received prestigious recognition for that work.

As one of the first classes required for Iowa undergraduate students, the general education Rhetoric course requirement paves the way for students to enhance important transferable skills.
