CLAS is pleased to announce the continuation of Team Teaching in the Humanities, a funding opportunity designed to support and expand collaboration within the humanities and beyond. This program encourages faculty collaboration across disciplines to develop innovative, co-taught courses that enrich student learning and foster intellectual partnerships.
Program Overview
Team Teaching in the Humanities provides funding and structural support for faculty teams to design and deliver courses that integrate diverse perspectives, methodologies, and pedagogical approaches. These courses will serve as models for interdisciplinary engagement and curricular innovation within the humanities.
Eligibility
Open to CLAS tenure-track, instructional-track, and clinical-track faculty. Proposals may include collaborations across departments or colleges, pending decanal approval.
Funding and Support
$7,500 to support replacement teaching costs for one vacated course per team-taught offering
$600 for instructional enhancements, including guest speakers and materials
Application Process
Faculty must submit an application outlining the course concept, learning objectives, and anticipated outcomes. Applications are open from Sept. 1 - Oct. 10, 2025 to propose courses to be taught during AY 2026-27. Applications can be emailed to the CLAS Dean's Office.
Post-Award Requirements
Faculty will be asked to report on student learning outcomes and course effectiveness. These reports will inform future iterations of the program and contribute to a repository of best practices in collaborative teaching.
