The CLAS Student Technology Fees (STF) program for FY27 is now inviting NEW proposals from all academic units in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. We encourage the submission of cooperative proposals from units with needs that can be effectively met in shared use facilities.

Actions needed

  • Submit proposals for new hardware, software, and student wages.
  • Confer with your departmental ETS consultants before submitting any STF proposals.
  • Your submission should be a single document (preferred format .docx/.doc), including the updated cover sheet and your proposal narrative.
  • If your proposal is for hardware refresh, work with your departmental ETS consultant to update the Hardware Refresh spreadsheet.*
  • If your department has multiple submissions, you will need to fill out multiple STF workflow forms. Please do not combine multiple proposals into one document.
  • Instead of the old 'DEO Endorsement' letter, we have introduced a field for the department's DEO to rank the proposals as High, Medium, or Low priority. If they forget to do this, I will re-route the package and notify them via email.

*We will evaluate the completeness of the spreadsheet on Jan. 15 and determine whether enough progress has been made. If so, we will use the spreadsheet and quotes for submission. If not, we will need to ask for the usual proposals for new hardware.

Please visit the Student Technology Fees page on the CLAS Resource Site to learn more about the proposal submission process.

Important

The open submission deadline for the STF FY27 program will close at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 06, 2026.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to the CLAS STF team.
