Please join us for the Second Annual CLAS Teaching Excellence Showcase on Friday, Nov. 7 from 10:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. in the Seminar Room in the UCC Conference Center (UCC 2520D).
The Showcase is an opportunity to celebrate and learn more about various initiatives CLAS faculty members to promote student learning in and beyond CLAS.
At this year’s CLAS Teaching Excellence Showcase you can:
- Learn about teaching innovation across the college.
- Acknowledge the importance and impact of CLAS’s General Education program, the CLAS Core, and learn how to apply for a course to have CLAS Core GE status.
- Celebrate faculty members in CLAS who have been recognized for teaching excellence.
- Hear from faculty who have had transformative moments teaching General Education courses, and how these experiences have impacted their teaching practices and attitudes.
- Listen to a short keynote presentation from Professor David Gooblar (Department of English) entitled, “Why We Do What We Do”: learn about the unique and exciting aspects of our Interpretation of Literature requirement and some best ways to support student learning in GE courses.
- Find out about upcoming events and opportunities offered by the Office of Teaching and Learning Technology and the Center for Teaching to assist you in your teaching and learning activities.
The event is co-sponsored by the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, the Center for Teaching, and the Office of Teaching, Learning, and Technology. We hope to see you there!
